For decades, California-raised, Ashley Maher has devoted her life to building musical bridges with West Africa. Since Virgin Records UK released her first two albums worldwide to critical acclaim, she has performed internationally and shared the stage with African icons such as Youssou N’Dour and Salif Keita. Since 2007, Ashley’s passion has been Senegalese mbalax music. She has traveled over twenty times to Dakar, Senegal to record, make videos, perform, and collaborate with top mbalax musicians, dancers, and artists. She recorded her seventh album, Made in Senegal, at Papis Konate’s busy Dakar studio in 2019. Ashley and her Senegal-based band are available for booking.
